The Best Organic Health Care Products For the Heart

About a fifth of the people who suffer from congestive heart failure (CHF) survive less than one year. Fifty percent die within five years. An amazing simple nutrient, CoQ10 can reverse congestive heart failure all on its own.

Researchers conducted a study using seven congestive heart failure patients. These people were given about 580 mg of ubiquinol CoQ10. (These individuals had been told they had a 6 per cent chance of surviving another year). Six lived, and the patient who died had stopped taking the CoQ10 three months into the study.

This new form of Co Q 10 is 8 times the potency of previous forms. And despite the research, it seems that it is not a regular choice of treatment for CHF. Common prescriptions for CHF include beta blockers, diuretics, vasodilators, ACE inhibitors, and even statins.

"Statins Inhibit Coenzyme Q10 Synthesis. Since coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and cholesterol are both synthesized from the same substance, mevalonate, statin drugs (Lipitor, Zocor, etc) also inhibit the body's synthesis of coenzyme Q10. This is not a "side effect," of statins, but a direct, inherent function of the drugs. In fact, the use of statins can decrease the body's synthesis of coenzyme Q10 by as much as 40%!" - Chris Masterjohn at http://www.cholesterol-and-health.com/Coenzyme-Q10.html

So even though low CoQ10 levels are considered to be an independent predictor of dying in CHF patients, supplementing CoQ10 is not a common treatment. If you have already developed congestive heart failure, ubiquinol CoQ10 taken in the 450 mg to 900 mg range would be expected to achieve therapeutic benefits.

If you have a healthy heart, CoQ10 is the best way to maintain your health. Dr. Al Sears suggests taking 50 mg of the ubiquinol (the most absorbable form) CoQ10 daily. It's good to know that one of the best organic health care products for the heart is readily available.
